How can i save for a used 2012 jeep wrangler?
I am graduating next year in the spring of 2013, and I want to buy myself a jeep wrangler, used of course. I dont know how much i should start trying to save but I have already started

Okay a question about jeep wranglers and traveling?
say you have a jeep wrangler with a 17 18 mpg and 4.0L engine and you need to travel about 10 hours a day for 6 days or so....how much gas will you be wasting daily. this is someone traveling from san fransisco to florida btw.well Mark you c nt. There's obviously more to it isn't there? I don't know how the whole mileage thing works and I don't know much gas is and how that works with Jeeps. Go suck a d ck or something.

Should I not get a jeep wrangler?
I'm 23 and I have a budget of $6000 to get a car, I've been shopping around for 98 wranglers preferably manual and only 6 cylinders. My uncle who knows about cars is supposed to check out the cars with me so I don't end up getting a bad deal. However, he keeps telling me I could get much better cars for the money, like a 4runner or explorer, seeing as he says I should get something more economical and comfortable. However I've always wanted a Wrangler but now he is making me doubt my decision and I need a car within the next 2 weeks as I need to get to school and work and not having a car after having my own car which i lost in an accident for 3 years makes it really difficult to live without a car in a city like Miami. I used to drive a 350z which I know is the complte opposite of a wrangler in terms of speed and style, but it was definitely a gas guzzler specially having to take premium gas and was not a comfortable car either.I see what you're saying but my 350z never got more than 19mpg and sometimes it got really bad down to 14mpg, when you add to the fact that premium gas is more expensive the difference with the jeep isn't that big. Oh and I don't know if you've driven a 350z haha but it is by no means a comfortable car, even for a short guy like me. My mom owns a Liberty and that is what I consider comfortable.

97 jeep wrangler car problems?
I have a 97 jeep wrangler sport. I recently had the computer chip reprogrammed and the alternator changed as well. When I picked my car up from the shop it was working fine but the next morning it would turn over but not start. I changed the battery and it started fine again and was working for the rest of the day. The very next morning I had the same problem. It turned over but would not start so I had it towed back to the shop. They are having trouble figuring out what exactly is wrong with it. Has anyone else had a similar problem that might help uncover what the issue is?Just in case anyone else has this issue they figured out a previous owner had done a terrible job installing a security system which ended up frying the computer chip and taking out the alternator. If you have an issue like this make sure they check the wiring in the dash. A faulty ignition also causes similar problems.

Can I put a non a/c belt on my jeep wrangler?
I have a 2005 jeep wrangler x 4.0 liter and the a c compressor has gone bad. Can I just put the non a c belt on and route it accordingly and leave the compressor as is?

Jeep wrangler 2.5 L engine?
I'm new to jeeps but have always wanted to own one. i have found jeeps in my price range around the year 95 that have the 2.5 L engine in them. I was looking at this engine for fuel economy, but there is a major problem that i see in buying it. I have read that they have a hard time reaching 65 mph and accelerate very slow from being under powered. I was wondering if re gearing the transmission would help to solve this problem or is there a cost effective way to fix this? The reason i wasn't looking at the 4.0 l was because of the mpg difference.

Newer models of the Jeep Wrangler?
My parents might buy me a Jeep Wrangler for my 18th birthday if I pass my driving test. It will be my first car. Ive read so many people discourage new drivers to get a Wrangler but I've read that the newer models are WAY better for city and highway driving. Is this true?

How reliable are Jeep Wranglers?
I was interested in purchasing a Jeep wrangler but I was a little skeptical mainly because of the whole " american car" thing being unreliable and poor quality. Any input? I was looking at the 2011 Sahara. I've heard they're underpowered. Is there any way to fix that? I mean without going crazy and adding a supercharger or twin turbo? You can't really compare old original jeeps to the ones they make today. I mean back in the 50's and 60's and even 70's american cars were solid. Then they turned to crap. I'm really also asking because in the 90s my dad bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was a lemon of a car. It was brand new tooI just wanna make sure I get a good amount of feedback from ppl. Sorry if it bothers u. It's a big purchase and I wanna make sure its the right one

Are Jeep Wranglers good for a country commute?
I live in a small Ontario town and I commute through the country to work 25min. Somedays the snow is bad but my 10yr old sedan with snow tires can hold the road sufficient enough but again it's 10yrs old. I've always wanted one and am wondering. I drive a cement truck for a living so I'm not concerned about a rough ride. My wife has a minivan that's our family vehicle, no concern about passengers. I have few questions and any opinion is good except don't recommend another vehicle this just about Jeeps. 1 I wan't a vehicle that is easy to work on and the parts are cheap, I've heard both about Jeeps is this true? 2 I wan't a vehicle that is going to last I buy it brand new and run it into the ground years later obviously maintaining it and taking care of it the best I can. How long can a Jeep last before it's not worth fixing anymore. Where I work the yard is a minefield of potholes that wear down my car no matter how slow I go. 2 wheel bearings and entire front end in a couple of years. How durable are Jeeps? Suspension do they need frequent replacing? I won't be offloading really maybe some but very rare. 4 I put an average of $35 of gas in the tank of my 4cyl sedan every week. What would be the average for a Jeep? 5 And insurance do insurance companies like to charge more are they classified as less safe? 6 Do they roll over easy? 7 How are they for handling on roads just light and medium driving no hairpin turns as with cars.Whoops OFFRAOADING, not offloading.

Should I buy this Wrangler?
The other day, I went to see a 2004 Jeep Wrangler X from a craigslist ad. Some info on the vehicle 5 speed manual128,xxx milesNew transmission with 5k miles4in tough country lift kitFront and back trutrac lockerFront and rear geared to 4.1133x12.5x15 tires1 ton steering systemRough Country adjustable long arm control armupgraded rear bumper with full size tire carrierAlarm system with proximity sensor, upgraded stereo, both hard top and soft top includedHe was asking $11,000 on it and said he was flexible on pricing, but only slightly. He said he did all the work and installations himself.I went with my buddy to check out the vehicle, and it was super clean inside and out, but when we popped the hood, the engine compartment had a decent amount of mud. I know it just simply washes off, but it impaired our ability to really assess the engine. My buddy did note some slight rust on the undercarriage, a possible small oil leak, and said he smelled antifreeze. But all that aside, I really loved the vehicle and am seriously considering making the purchase, maybe after trying to talk him down a bit. What really sways me, though, is the fact that if I were to make a purchase on a stock jeep, I think I would end up spending more on accessories and upgrades that are already on this 2004 alarm system, stereo, hard and soft top, ect .Let me know what you think about the price and purchase as a whole. It does have a nice chunk of miles on it already. I definitely preferred it over the stale cigarette smelling, dog hair covered, ripped soft top 2002 tj that I saw the day before.

How is the quality and reliability of a Jeep Wrangler?
I ran across this link that has the JD Power & Associates and I'm kinda skeptical about the car's quality. It's pretty low. Any input? I plan on adding aftermarket parts. Would that help it have a higher quality?autos.aol.com cars Jeep Wrangler 2011 reliability
