1998 jeep cherokee starter continues to crank with keys out of ignition.?
I have a 1998 jeep cherokee,The vehicle would not crank.I replaced the starter.After replacing the starterwith the keys out of the ignition i hooked up the battery,and immediately it started cranking. again the keys are not in the ignition the wires going to the starter are installed correctly.I have also replaced the starter relay.What could this possibly be????Help
How do i remove the oil pan on a 2004 jeep grand cherokee with the 4.7 v-8?
I have removed all the bolts and busted it loose from the block but it is acting like something is holding it from the inside. I cant get it to slide any direction or pull it straight down. If anyone has any info on this I sure would appreciate it.I did get a manual, and did what it said, also the dipstick is on the passenger side next to the tran. dipstick. I do appreciate you getting back to me, I will call a dealer tomorrow. P.S. this sucks, but they say what dont kill you makes you stronger I hope this damn thing dont fall on me HaHa have a good one I will get back to you and let you know whats going on to hopefuly help someone else have a good one Thanks for your time Johnny

Hi I recently looked at a jeep and am contemplating on buying it how ever i noticed after taking it on a test drive that it has about a quarter size oil drop in front on side and back as if it was coming from above the oil filter. I guess im asking where it might be leaking from and how much of a cost this could be to fix it.. I appears to be coming from oil pan but i noticed it looks a little wet shiny a few inches above the oil filter could it be head gasket? the car is a 1999 jeep cherokee sport with the 4.0 6cyl with 180,000 miles on it.... oh yeah the valve cover gasket was just done any help deciding weather i should buy this thing would be great...thank you

95 jeep grand cherokee transfer case troubles...?
I've asked this question before but no one answered I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, 4.0l Inline 6 cyl. The transfer case TC is an NP249. I am getting a " Check 4WD Switch" error message on the CID center console vehicle status display . It has approx. 240K miles on it, original transmission, TC, driveshafts, front axle, and torque converter. I believe the rear axle and engine block have been replaced with OEM replacements at some point I'm the 2nd owner, don't know what the first owner did during those 8 years .Question is, what would be a place to start looking for why I am getting the read out, along with a 'jerking' while turning very sharply only after being driven for several miles..I know there was a screw up, 5 yrs ago, from a mechanic who put the wrong tires on that overheated the front differential and blew the pressure hose, but that was corrected and there were no problems until about 2 1 2 yrs ago with said problems.. This is my daily driver and I am very limited on finances to put into it at this time, so the cheaper route to start would be appreciated. I want to correct this problem before it gets any worse, too much time has already gone by...Please help, my fellow gearheads Correction, CID is displaying " Service 4WD Switch" , not check..
Why 1994 jeep grand cherokee laredo wont start?
unless it is jumped off when the jumper cables hit the battery the emergency lights come on, though the switch is not engaged also the dashboard lights come on when its shut off it makes a sort of ticking sound and will not start back today is the first day its done this cant think of anything that would make this happen not very mechanically enclined
