Question: Problems with a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo...?

I have the vehicle listed in the question and here is my problem....when im driving down the interstate my jeep revs up to 2500 rpm then drops to 1000 rpm constantly for about 15 seconds. finally i turned overdrive off and it quit doing this. iv had this problem b4 and when i went to get it looked at it didnt do it (of course). is this just my overdrive going out or something bigger such as my transmission? ill watch this question so if u have anything else u want to know ill try to edit asap

Sounds like the transmission needs to be repaired, or a few gaskets need replacement.
