The other gentleman is completely correct. You will get your head unit (single im assuming?) and buy an aftermarket mounting kit. They carry them at Walmart and any Car Audio center will have these and they run about 15-20 bucks and will slide over the unit and mount with four plastic tabs that you bolt down under your trim and your done.

No, and double DIN stereos will not fit. The 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, like almost all Chrysler vehicles, uses a DIN-and-a-half (1.5DIN) stereo from the factory. You can mount any DIN or DIN-and-a-half aftermarket stereo with an appropriate trim kit. If you're looking at head units with motorized screens, make sure they'll clear the dash when open. Many won't.
