Which is better? a jeep 2006 tj rubicon or a 2006 rubicon unlimited?

Question: Which is better? a jeep 2006 tj rubicon or a 2006 rubicon unlimited?

I have the option to purchase one of two Jeep Rubicons. Both are 2006, but one is the Unlimited SE edition and the other is a standard Rubicon. What are the advantages of each? I would be doing some off roading with plenty of city driving. I don't understand what advantages the longer wheel base of the unlimited has to offer. The Unlimited has 18, 000 miles, but costs $2k more than the regular rubicon (that has 30, 000 miles).

A SE model is NOT a Rubicon. Also the SE trim package has the 4 cly (bad choice). The Rubi has better axils and transfer case with 4.10 gears and lockers. A big plus. The big difference between and short Jeep and an Unlimited is more leg room for rear passengers and more cargo space behind the back seat. If you carry stuff or passengers that are adults, the extra space is golden. Double check that SE thing. If it is a SE model get the Rubicon. If it is a Rubicon Unlimited, you have to ask yourself if the extra space is needed. Your back seat passengers with think so. If you have kids, the shorter version will be fine. Both will be great. Don't buy a SE trim package. It is stripped down and only comes with a 4 banger.

I would go with the standard. The only thing a longer wheel base has to offer is getting you stuck in a hole.

The only real advantage is a bit more cargo space. Or if you're planning on going huge with 40 inch tires a bit longer wheelbase has it's perks, mainly for stability. I've only owned short Jeeps so I can't say how the longer wheelbase handles off-road, but I suspect most of the complaints about getting hung up on stuff are baseless. I've watched stock 4-door JK's handle some incredibly tight spots, and those are a heck of a lot longer and an LJ. There's been times I would have loved the extra cargo space. If you don't mind the looks, I'd get the Unlimited.
