You will need 2-3 quarts of fluid. According to Chrysler, you will need Mopar brand manual transmission lubricant. That is what it's called. Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant. And, Chrysler doesn't give a service interval for some reason. I wouldn't replace the fluid any more frequent than 30,000 miles, I would stretch it to replace it every 50-60,000 miles, depending on what you do with your Jeep. And by the way, you can have either a NV1500 or NV3550 transmission. If your engine is a 4.0L, you have a NV3500, if your engine is a 2.4L, you have a NV1500. By the way, using OEM fluids is usually the best route. Think about it, Chrysler designed the transmission, gears, seals, etc., Chrysler assigned the best fluid for its use, and Chrysler offered a lifetime Powertrain warranty- they can't afford to be wrong. O yeah, did I forget to mention the manual transmissions don't use filters? (my bad, beartree) |
