I am currenty in the market for Jeep Wranglers and am trying to figure out some differences. I wanted to know what the difference between the Sahara and the regular Wrangler i guess you could say. Second, I live in Florida where it gets pretty hot so i am trying to decide if a hard top or soft top is the way to go. if anyone needs more information please do not hessitate to ask! Thanks

The regular Wrangler (SE) has a 4 cyl, Sports have the 6 cyl, Sahara's are the same as the Sport but with interior upgrades (better stereo system, etc), Rubicons are another offshoot of the Sport but have the off road upgrades (Dana 44 rear, electric locker, larger tires and a few other things I can't remember). If you are going to only have one top I would go with the soft top, especially in Florida. The hard top is harder to get on and off, you need at least 3 people to do it and you have to have a place to store it. Soft tops are easier to deal with. I have an aftermarket one and I can get it up and down by myself withing 5 minutes. I personally have both tops. I love my hard top for the winter (I live in Wisconsin) but once it gets warm it comes off and I couldn't imagine having to drive around in summer weather with the hard top on!

If you plan on doing allot of offroading, its nice to have a Rubicon as most of what is on the Sahara or tj is basic std equipment while the rubi has heavy duty equip., plus lockers, 4.11 gearing, etc, etc you can check it out on the net. If your going to offroading now and them you might want to get yourself a tj or Sahara that is fine of hy and city driving and mild offroading. And of course is cheaper than the Rubi. Hard vs Soft top, when buying new or used I would be inclined to make sure both were part of the deal. When its hot in the summer you can remove the soft top. But if you go north or get some cold days its nice to have a hard top, plus you have more protection from the elements.I find the biggest problem with the soft top, everything is accessible to anyone, so either u have to lock everything in a box or not carry it. I bought a 03 tj std, and got a very good deal price wise, but since then have modified it for offroading, now a rubi wud have been nice but not a the price I paid, so it differs price to what you want and what are you going to use it for. Chk out some offroading, 4x4, forum sites on the net and see what others have to say. Shop around.
