1991 is the first year Jeeps used fuel injection, and if the jeep still has the original equipment then it could be dozen different things, but what they are come down to is that the fuel to air mixture is off drastically. You may need a new O2 sensor, you may need new injectors, or you may have a clogged filter or dying pump. If the O2 sensor is really messed up, the computer is going to be throwing the mixture way off thinking that its actually correcting a problem that isnt there. By now, the sensor is probably rusted to hell, and is going to be hard to get off without a torch of some kind. Im going to recommend you have a mechanic look this over, since he will be able to read the fuel pressure and knows how to deal with extremely corroded parts. At most this is going to be $500, and thats if you need a combination of things. You could just go all out and have him replace the O2 sensor, pump, filter, and injectors, and you would have one fine running little jeep. |

If you are the guy that had his green sahara towed into Jeep solutions this morning your are in good hands. It could be TPS,MAP sensor, Fuel pump or Engine controller, These would be the main things, but could be others |

Check your plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter ( could be choking the engine out if dirty) |
