I've just been wondering about this for a while and am interested in the differences between the three and which is a 'better' choice and why.

I would assume you are talking about the TJ, since the JK doesn't come in sport trim. Here's the major differences: X - 2002-2006 * 4.0L I-6 engine * No D44 option Sport - 1997-2006 * 4.0L I-6 engine * Optional D44 rear axle Sahara - 1997-2004 * 4.0L I-6 engine * Body colored fender flares that are 1 " wider than standard TJ flares * Body color rocker sills * Optional Dana 44 rear axle * 16 " wheels for 2000-2004 models * 30 " tires * Full steel doors * Unique seats and interior trim * Sahara decals Best choice is either the Sport or Sahara, since they have the option of the stronger Dana 44 axle. The Sahara also comes with larger tires, but has body color flares which will show scratches easier. The X model is certainly the cheapest, and good for a daily driver.
