Does the jeep wrangler unlimited drive smoothly?

Question: Does the jeep wrangler unlimited drive smoothly?

(Posted by: michelle s on 2009-10-11 18:37:25)

I currently drive a toyota rav 4, which is small enough for me and drives like a car. im thinking about buying the jeep wrangler unlimited, but what do you jeep owners think? does it drive smoothly or is it bumpy? is the soft top cold during the winter (east coast) months?

Jeeps are amazing. i have a 2000 Wrangler Sport and i love it. They are awesome on or off road. I never had any problems in the snow. i actually felt extremely confident while driving in the snow. It has a bumpy ride but its not too bad. the soft top is cold at first but once the car warms up and you get the heater going, its extremely warm (i live in ohio and have been very warm during the winter). the heat doesnt stay in the jeep very long once you turn it off but that will happen with any car. in my personal opinion, dont get a 4 door unlimited. get the 2 door. unless of course you just want the added comfort of the 2 extra doors, the little bit extra cargo space in the back, and a much longer wheel base. the 4 doors hold just as many people as the 2 doors do. Overall, wranglers are very tough and reliable. I think they are great! O|||||||O

Jeeps are made to do one thing ( and can be modified to do it quite well ) that go off road, they are noisy, get acceptable gas mileage at best and don't drive like a car at all, they aren't that good in snow, the tops rip/ get cut from people stealing things.if your not taking it off road or modifying it to be a real beast off road , don't get it.

Everything that alex says is true. jeeps aren't for everybody. but i myself happen to think that they are a whole lot of fun. jeep is not just a car, it's a.............statement. go to a jeep dealership and drive one. even if you're gonna buy a used one, drive a new one first. they won't know that you just wanna drive and not buy. if you like it, well you know what to do. if you hate it (because it'll be a very different experience from the rav4, then you'll know what to do then too. driving a cj, yj, tj etc is a unique experience........you really know that you're driving. if it isn't your cup of tea, have a go in a 2000 cherokee sport. it's a little more tame.
