Brake problems for 2004 jeep wrangler unlimited?

Question: Brake problems for 2004 jeep wrangler unlimited?

(Posted by: Parawatt on 2010-07-04 17:41:12)

I have a 2004 Jeep Wangler Unlimited. For the last 2 weeks the brakes sounded terrible and made grinding noises when stopping. This past Friday, they basically stopped working.. I noticed I had no brake fluid and one of the wheels looked like the brake was going metal on metal (no pad) ... This is a killer! I have about 130 bucks to fix this... any idea what it may be? Any suggestions for shops in the Malden, MA area? Seriously this couldn't have come at a worst time.

You do not mention smelling or seeing brake fluid, so I'm going say that you have just run the pads into the backings. Hopefully all your brake fluid is sitting in your calipers where the pistons are pushed out to their max. There is no telling what kind of damage was done to the rotors. Afraid that your $130.00 is not going to cover this repair. Good luck to you.
