Question: Is my 2010 jeep wrangler unlimited weather-proof?
(Posted by: Parker C on 2010-07-11 16:42:19)
I just bought a 2010 Jeep Unlimited Sahara package, and I was wondering if it is weather/ rain proof. I have the media center in it with the navigation radio and i'm scared that if it gets wet, it will be ruined |

The people who built your Jeep understand that the tops come off and it may get wet. As long as you don't submerge the Jeep it will be fine. I know plenty of people who have newer Jeeps, left them out in the rain with the tops down or off, and have had no problems. Just use common sense - don't leave it out in a downpour or drive it underwater, and you'll be fine. |

As long as the top and the doors are on you are fine, athough if you have the top and/ or doors off you may cause undo damage to the indash electrical components on your Jeep. I have been using Jeeps off-road for many years and one of my only complaints has been that the electronic systems are not "Marine Grade ". They will handle some moisture but they will not tolerate a whole lot. Although for the next few years you have a bumper to bumper warranty. |

I agree with the other posts that you would be fine with light moisture. Here is a suggestion that would help with protection and security. Enjoy the Jeep!! Tuffy Security Products Flip-n-Lock MyGig/ Stereo Cover in Dark Slate For 07-10 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK |

My 2000 Wrangler got pretty well soaked last years on a road with just the bikini top on it. The next morning the cruise control would have no part of working but after few miles on the road things dried out a bit and the cruise came back to life and is still working fine. |
